Two-time U.S. ice dancing bronze medalists Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov have moved to Connecticut to work with Russian coach Nikoli Morozov. Gregory and Petukhov teamed up in August 2000 and moved quickly up the ranks in U.S. ice dancing. They previously split their training time between Denver, Colo., where they worked with Gregory's longtime coach Sandy Hess, and Chicago, where they trained with Oleg Epstein.

Gregory told U.S. Figure Skating Online April 23 that she and Petukhov were really happy to be in Connecticut.

"We just thought we needed to bump it up a little in order to skate at a new level," Gregory said.

She added that their previous coaches are very supportive of the decision. In fact, she said that Hess is the one who pushed them in the new direction, and they remain close.

Gregory and Petukhov join five-time U.S. ice dancing champions Naomi Lang and Peter Tchernyshev in Connecticut. Lang and Tchernyshev began working solely with Morozov earlier this season.
